2026 Rebuilt Season Recap
The 2026 Rebuilt season was one of the most ambitious in Velocity Raptors history. Coming off our Sustainability Award win at the World Championship in Houston, the team returned to the shop hungry to build a robot that could match the energy of our off-season momentum and the expectations our community has built around Team 9450.
Our Rebuilt robot, RAPTOR-VI, leaned on a refined swerve drivetrain, a fast and repeatable scoring mechanism, and the most reliable endgame we've ever fielded. Build season was tight - kickoff to bag was a whirlwind of CAD reviews, late-night machining at our shop, and driver practice on a half-field built by our fabrication crew.
At our first event in Bonney Lake, we went 13-4 in qualifications, finishing 4th after quals and earning a 3rd-place finish in playoffs as a captain alliance. We also took home the Creativity Award for our scoring mechanism design - a recognition the design team had been chasing all year.
From there, we carried momentum into the PNW district season, sitting comfortably in the top 10 of the district for most of the year. Our drive team's consistency, paired with our scouting team's match strategy, gave us a real shot at every elimination bracket we entered.
Off the field, our Impact team continued the work that earned us Sustainability in Houston - running outreach events at local elementary schools, mentoring two new FLL teams, and growing our sponsor base with new partners across the Puget Sound region.
Thank you to our mentors, sponsors, families, and the FIRST community for an unforgettable Rebuilt season. We can't wait to share what's next.
